Making Watermelon slushies

Mrs. Wallace's third grade students participated in a refreshing and delicious activity in conjunction with the Baldwin County School District Nutrition Department. The Nutrition Department conducts over 30 taste tests at different schools in the district in its effort to satisfy and exceed requirements for the Golden Radish Award. The Golden Radish Award is given to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in Georgia who are doing extraordinary work in farm to school. It is presented by the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Department of Agriculture, Georgia Department of Public Health, the UGA Cooperative Extension, Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, and Georgia Organics. In 2018, Baldwin County Schools received the award at the platinum level, which is the highest level achievable.
