GEORGIA SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION

2020 EXEMPLARY SCHOOL BOARD AWARD




The Baldwin County School District Board of Education was recognized as a 2020 Exemplary Board for the fourth year in a row by the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA). The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures in order to advance student learning and achievement. The Baldwin County Board of Education exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2020 Exemplary Board. Out of 181 school districts in the state, 56 school boards earned this prestigious award. Congratulations to the Baldwin County School Board for receiving this honor. Board Members are: Dr. Gloria Wicker (District 1), Shannon Hill (District 2), Lyn Chandler (District 3), John Jackson (District 4), and Wes Cummings (District 5).


 

RECOGNITION BY MILLEDGEVILLE CITY COUNCIL & THE BALDWIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS


The Baldwin County Board of Education was presented with proclamations from Milledgeville City Council & The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners, recognizing the school system for being selected as the 2020 Georgia Charter System of the Year. The award was presented to the school district by the Charter System Foundation for demonstrating flexibility, innovation, commitment, and achievement as a charter school system.

 

NATIONAL SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS DAY


In honor of National School Resource Officers Day, observed Saturday, January 9th, 2021, the Baldwin County School District presented school resource officers with certificates of appreciation for working tirelessly to keep our children and the community safe. Pictured below is Deputy Tony Holland, SRO at Oak Hill Middle School; Deputy Chanda Hogan, SRO at Midway Hills Primary; Deputy Stephanie Jones, SRO at Midway Hills Academy; & Deputy Oscar Garcia & Lt. Gail Hollis, SRO's at Baldwin High School. Thank you all for everything that you do in keeping our staff and students safe.


 

January Pursuit of Excellence Winners


The school board recognized the January recipients of the Baldwin County School District Pursuit of Excellence Award. The Pursuit of Excellence award is presented monthly to employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. The winners are Mrs. Beth Craddock, Teacher at Lakeview Academy; Dr. Kachari Davis, Assistant Principal at Oak Hill Middle School; Mrs. Samantha Payne, Teacher at Lakeview Primary; and Mr. Micaiah Watson, Counselor at Midway Hills Primary.
