Last week's 2-day Summer Professional Learning program will prepare PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) coaches, school principals, and PBIS team members to advance the current approach to PBIS action plans and continue to improve school climate through positive strategies that increase teacher, parent, and community support.
The training was lead by Dr. Deanna Hollins, the system coordinator of assessment and accountability, with special presenters Benjamin Moore, the Georgia Department of Education's school climate specialist, and Morgen Gay, PBIS Coach at Carson Middle in Greene County. Gay provided best practices with PBIS and sample checklists and planning agendas to help coaches brainstorm ideas for implementation, buy in, incentives, and even fundraising for the upcoming school year.
