ABOUT THE MONTESSORI ACADEMY

The Montessori Academy offers Baldwin County families a unique public-school option built around curiosity, independence, and the way children naturally learn. Serving students from infancy through fifth grade, the program uses the Montessori approach to create hands-on, student-centered learning environments where children can explore concepts at their own pace while developing strong academic, social, and practical-life skills.

In Montessori classrooms, teachers serve as guides, providing individualized instruction within multi-age learning communities. Students are encouraged to ask questions, make choices, solve problems, and take increasing ownership of their learning. Because instruction meets children where they are, students can receive additional support when they need it and continue moving forward when they are ready for greater challenges. The result is an engaging learning experience designed not simply to teach students, but to help develop confident, capable, lifelong learners.
