GHSA 4 A Region 3 Cross Country Championships

The Baldwin High School Cross Country teams hosted the GHSA 4 A Region 3 Cross Country Championships Tuesday October 24th. The girls team made school history by winning the first girls region championship in school history. Freshman Ashley Johnson led the way by finishing second in the region. Senior Makayla Butts finished fifth followed by her teammate, Junior Lanika Ross who finished sixth. Sophomore Cara Bennett finished seventh and Freshman Nykeshia Thornton finished eighth. The boys team finished third in the region, led by Sophomore DeMarcus Reeves who finished second in the region. Senior Hezekiah Hartry finished fifth, Junior James Kilgore Jr. finished seventh, and Freshman Justin Hodges finished fourteenth. Both teams qualified for the state cross country meet in Carrollton, Ga November 4-5.
