LVA Beginning Band Takes Musical Strides Forward

September 13, 2018

Lakeview Academy's  Beginning Band students are showing great progress in their musical studies, confidently picking up where they left off after the summer. Last year's introduction of the elementary band program saw 3rd, 4th and 5th graders starting with band fundamentals and playing on recorders. Fifth graders started playing on band instruments in February, while fourth graders started in the spring. This year, 5th and 4th graders have been able to start the year playing on their band instruments, building on the knowledge they obtained from their initial year of beginning band instruction. A new batch of 3rd grade band students are being introduced into the band program by trying out different instruments . Mrs. Lyndsey Hamby, Baldwin County Schools Beginning Band Director serves 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in both Baldwin County academies. The beginning band program is part of the an award-winning and nationally recognized Fine and Performing Arts Program offered by Baldwin County Schools.
