Overview

The Early Learning Center Head Start program is available for children from low-income families between 3-5 years old, including those with special needs. Click below to determine if your family is income eligible for Head Start. https://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Meet the threshold for income poverty guidelines

  • Be a Resident of Baldwin County

  • Be enrolling a child who will be 3 or 4 years of age by the school cutoff date of September 1, 2020

  • Receive SSI, Foster, TANF, Homeless

Fees

There is no cost to the parent/guardian

How to Apply Online:

  • The Online Application are only available to new first time applicants.

  • Apply online if you have never completed an application before with the Early Learning Center!

  • Online APPLICATIONS are available to complete starting January 16th- January 31st by noon for initial enrollment.

  • Please complete your Online Application and submit the required documents during the interview application intake process.

Required Documents

  • Copy of Certified Birth Certificate

  • Social Security Card (child’s)

  • Proof of Residency

    • Utility Bill (water, gas, electric), or

    • Property Tax Bill, or

    • Rental/Lease Agreement

  • Proof of Income

    • 2019 W-2 (preferred), or

    • 2019 Tax Return (preferred), or

    • Two consecutive check stubs from within the last two months, or

    • T.A.N.F. Verification, or

    • Unemployment check stub, or

    • Notarized Child Support, or 

    • SSI Documentation

Applications will be marked as incomplete until all required documents are received.

DO NOT COMPLETE the online application if you completed a 2019-2020 application for your 3 year old and were placed on the WAITLIST.  You must update your application in person. Please bring all documents (Proof of Residency & Proof of Income) for updating and applying for the 2020-2021 School Term.  The Early Learning Center will be available Mon-Fri starting January 16th- January 31st. for updating application and initial enrollment.
