The Baldwin County School District (BCSD) will delay dismissal for all of its schools by 45 minutes on Monday, August 21st as a precaution to the upcoming solar eclipse.

The new release times that day will be Elementary at 3:30 p.m. and middle and high schools at 4:00 p.m. Parents and guardians can expect a delay in both bus transportation and car rider pick-ups accordingly.

“We believe that the 45 minute delay in dismissal is the safest thing to do for our students and their families during the upcoming solar eclipse. We are committed to making the eclipse event a unique educational experience for our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Noris Price.

“We are thankful that Georgia College will be providing specialized glasses to our students.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the BCSD Transportation page at www.baldwincountyschoolsga.org to download the MyStop app so they can track their students bus while in transit, both during the eclipse and throughout the school year.
