The Baldwin County School District announced today that Superintendent Dr. Noris Price has been selected to serve as a board member for the Georgia Foundation for Early Care and Learning and the Georgia Children’s Cabinet.
“I’m honored to have been selected to serve on these boards that are so focused on helping all of Georgia’s children,” said Superintendent Dr. Noris Price. “I’m thrilled to be able to expand my passion in seeing every child receive a quality education and the opportunity to achieve their dreams.”
Founded by Governor Nathan Deal and the Georgia General Assembly in 2017, the Georgia Foundation for Early Care and Learning makes strategic investments to improve and expand high-quality early education to help ensure all children in Georgia are prepared to succeed when they enter kindergarten regardless of family income or location. The Foundation will support education excellence by partnering with families, communities, the early care and education industry, and stakeholders.
The Georgia Children's Cabinet, administered by the First Lady of Georgia Sandra Deal, consists of all state agency heads that work with child populations as well as select community members, philanthropic, education, and business stakeholders. This single group is the place where state and community programs are aligned, and recommendations for improving delivery of care to children are made to impact decision making at the state level.
Georgia Children's Cabinet coordinates policies and resources to improve outcomes for children and families. The Cabinet provides unique leadership on child welfare and juvenile justice issues in Georgia by identifying state strategic priorities, then developing initiatives in response.
