Literacy is a large part of the instructional day at Midway Hills Academy. Several classes use Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time during the day to reinforce the culture of reading at MHA.

Ms. Lance's homeroom enjoys starting the day with Independent Reading time, where they can enjoy a book of their choosing from either the classroom of the media center's extensive collection.
