Writer: EricJonesEricJones

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Baldwin County School District recently collaborated with 13WMAZ to host the opening day of their annual 'Stuff the Truck' benefit for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. As the holiday season approached, the initiative aimed to channel the spirit of gratitude into tangible support for neighbors in need.

The event saw active participation from various schools within the Baldwin County School System, including Oak Hill Middle School, Midway Hills Primary, Lakeview Academy, Midway Hills Academy, and Lakeview Primary as well as appearances by the Baldwin High School Braves and Bravettes!

The collective effort resulted in an impressive donation of over 4,000 food items, comprising canned goods and non-perishable items. The outpouring of support from students, parents, and the broader community showcased the effectiveness of the Baldwin County School System in rallying the community for a charitable cause.

Reflecting on the success of the event, organizers expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response in Milledgeville, attributing it to the proactive involvement of the Baldwin County School System. The event not only provided an opportunity for individuals to give back but also fostered a sense of excitement and unity within the community. As the first 'Stuff the Truck' in Baldwin County, the initiative set a promising precedent for future collaborations between the school district and local organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
