Baldwin County School District's Fine Arts Program Celebrates Black History Month

Allie Mills

As the 2025's Black History Month drew to a close, schools from across the District honored Black History Month with engaging activities and events that highlighted the contributions, culture, and achievements of Black Americans. Each school found creative ways to bring history to life and inspire students to learn more about the past and present.

Lakeview Primary's 2nd-grade students transformed the school into a Black History Museum. Students researched famous African Americans, created informative and colorful posters, and proudly presented their work to classmates, teachers, and parents.

At the Early Learning Center, students turned back the clock in style with a Black History Month Fashion Show featuring iconic Black figures and a hallway wax museum that brought history to life. The event was a fun and interactive way for our youngest learners to engage with important historical figures and moments.

Oak Hill Middle School celebrated Black History Month with powerful choral and dance performances. There was a performance at the Georgia Veterans Home, as well as the school. These performances gave students the opportunity to express the spirit and resilience of Black history through the arts.

The Baldwin High School Student Council hosted a week of themed days to celebrate Black history, culture, and achievements. Students and staff participated with enthusiasm, coming together to recognize and appreciate the rich history and contributions of Black Americans.

We are proud of our students and staff for their creativity and dedication in honoring Black history and culture!
