BCSD Announces a Virtual Half-Day for Students on September 20th

Updated: Sep 16

The Baldwin County School District had initially scheduled a half-day for students on September 20th. However, to train all teachers and staff in Franklin Covey's Leader in Me Program, students will now have a virtual half-day. Teachers will provide students with work to be completed at home before September 20th.

This asynchronous virtual half-day will allow all teachers to participate in Franklin Covey's Leader in Me Program, part of a $500,000 three-year grant the District recently received. This program teaches students leadership and life skills to transform school culture and enhance academic achievements.

The Leader in Me Program empowers students to lead others and themselves to become the next generation of change-makers and problem-solvers. The partnership provides Baldwin County Schools comprehensive training, coaching, and other materials.

On September 20, 2024, all teachers and staff will participate in this training in the morning while students complete assigned work from home. In the afternoon, teachers will conduct parent/teacher conferences.

If you would like your child to bring home a Chromebook (Grades 3-12), please ensure that you complete the Baldwin County School District Student Device Chromebook Release Form. To access this form, please pay the Technology Fee and request a Chromebook Release Form from his/her teacher, the Media Specialists or the BCSD Technology Department.
