BCSD Honors School Board Appreciation Week 2025

The Baldwin County School District is proud to participate in a statewide celebration honoring the commitment and dedication of our local school board members. The week of March 10-14, 2025, has been proclaimed School Board Appreciation Week in Georgia. This annual observance highlights the contributions made by local boards of education in fostering academic excellence and supporting student achievement.

Elected by the community, our school board members serve as the voice of Baldwin County residents in shaping education policies, managing resources, and ensuring the best possible learning environment for students. These dedicated individuals invest countless hours to uphold and advance the standards of education in our district.

For eight consecutive years, the Baldwin County School Board has been recognized by the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) as an Exemplary School Board, a distinction that reflects its outstanding leadership and commitment to educational success. The Board met and exceeded GSBA’s rigorous criteria to earn this honor for 2025.

Board of Education members currently serving our school district are:

Mr. Wes Cummings, Board Chair (District 5)

Dr. Gloria Wicker, Board Chair (District 1)

Ms. Shannon D. Hill, Board Vice-Chair (District 2)

Mr. Dylan Amerson, Board Member (District 3)

Mr. John N. Jackson, Board Member (District 4)

As constitutional officers of Georgia, our school board members play a vital role in establishing policies, managing personnel, maintaining school facilities, overseeing transportation services, and managing financial resources.

The Baldwin County School District extends its deepest gratitude to our school board members for their unwavering dedication to the children and families of our community. Their leadership and service are instrumental in shaping a brighter future for all students in Baldwin County.
