BCSD Hosted Emergency Preparedness Annual Meeting

ree

The safety of our students and staff is the top priority here at the Baldwin County School District. Recently, the school district hosted its annual Emergency Preparedness Meeting, bringing together local law enforcement, emergency personnel, and public health officials along with Baldwin County Schools principals and district leaders to discuss an overview of the school district's School Emergency Preparedness Plan. The meeting was hosted by Deputy Superintendent Matt Adams. Mr. Adams discussed the current safety measures that have already been put in place as well as COVID-19 safety protocols that have been implemented at all of Baldwin County's school campuses and facilities. The meeting also included a presentation by school resource officers from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office about the CHAMPS program. The CHAMPS program promotes safety and crime prevention as well as offering mentoring to area children in Baldwin County Schools. Kate Hargrove, Homeland Security Coordinator for the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency provided a presentation on GEMA's Georgia Back to School Safety Reference and discussed GEMA Safety Awareness Walks.
