BCSD Superintendent Dr. Noris Price Elected to Serve as President-Elect for GSSA



The Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) has announced that Dr. Noris Price, Superintendent of the Baldwin County School District, has been elected to serve as President-Elect for the organization. This pivotal appointment reflects Dr. Price's exceptional leadership and dedication to the advancement of education in Georgia.


In a seamless transition of leadership, Dr. Jason Branch, Superintendent of Oconee County Schools, assumes the role of GSSA President. Dr. Branch's exemplary track record and commitment to educational excellence make him well-suited to lead GSSA as President. He will serve in this capacity until July of 2024.


The Georgia School Superintendents Association Executive Committee is composed of distinguished individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the betterment of education. Joining Dr. Branch in these important roles are:

  • Dr. Noris Price, President-Elect: A visionary leader hailing from Baldwin County School District, Dr. Price brings a wealth of experience and innovative thinking to her new role. Her selection as President-Elect showcases the faith the GSSA places in her ability to shape the future of education in Georgia.

  • Dr. Bubba Longgrear, Secretary-Treasurer: With a background as superintendent in Candler County, Dr. Longgrear's financial acumen and administrative expertise make him a crucial addition to the GSSA Executive Committee.

  • Dr. Mark Scott, GSSA GAEL Board Member at Large: Dr. Scott, superintendent in Houston County, brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to this position, enriching the deliberations of the GSSA Executive Committee.

  • Dr. Aaron Geter, Past-President: As he transitions from his role as President, Dr. Geter's invaluable experience will continue to be a guiding force within the GSSA Executive Committee.

Together, these accomplished leaders will steer the course of the Georgia School Superintendent Association for the 2023-2024 term. Their collective expertise, dedication, and visionary thinking promise to enhance the educational landscape and empower Georgia's students for success.
