BCSD Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer Marilyn Katrina London

Congratulations to Ms. Marilyn Katrina London,who was approved by the Board of Education as the new Chief Financial Officer for the Baldwin County School District. Ms. London was born and raised in Washington County. She is a 1991 honor graduate of Washington County High School and was one of the starting five to lead the 1991 “Golden Hawkettes” to their undefeated season of 30-0 while capturing their championship victory. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in accounting from Georgia College in 1995. In 2004, she received a Master of Accounting from Nova Southeastern University and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2006.
With over 25 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and federal funds administration, Ms. London is a seasoned professional who has demonstrated exceptional expertise in the education sector. Ms. London has built a successful career managing complex financial operations and overseeing the allocation and compliance of federal funds.
Throughout a distinguished career, Ms. London has worked with various educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private sector clients, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, optimizing financial processes, and driving efficiency in fund management. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Ms. London is skilled in accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing, with a deep understanding of federal grants and funding requirements.
With a deep understanding of financial systems and accounting best practices, Ms. London has successfully led teams in overseeing the allocation and disbursement of federal funds and implementing effective financial controls to safeguard public resources. Her commitment to accuracy and integrity has consistently earned her a reputation as a trusted advisor and problem solver.
Having managed numerous projects involving federal funding, Ms. London has developed an exceptional ability to navigate the intricacies of financial regulations, ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance. In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. London is dedicated to continuous professional development and remains current with evolving financial regulations and industry standards. As a CPA, she is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and delivering value to clients and stakeholders.
Ms. London is passionate about education and is deeply honored and excited to be selected as the Chief Financial Officer of the Baldwin County School District, as this role allows her to contribute to the educational and financial well-being of our students and community. She looks forward to collaborating with fellow leaders, staff, and families to ensure that we allocate resources effectively and create a sustainable financial future that supports BCSD’s mission of academic excellence.
Ms. London resides in Washington County and has three girls: Kenya, Kandace and Katie. She enjoys attending church, spending time with her family, and attending basketball games or watching games on TV!
