Terri Carty was approved by the Board of Education as the new principal of Midway Hills Academy, effective July 1, 2023. Carty has spent her entire career with the Baldwin County School District. She first joined Midway Elementary School in 2005 teaching fourth and second grades. In 2016, she became an Instructional Coach for the primary schools and in 2018, she was appointed the assistant principal of Midway Hills Primary.

Carty received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and her Master’s and Specialist degrees from George College and State University in Educational Leadership. She is married to Tom, who is an Assistant Baseball Coach for Columbia University. They have three wonderful children, Tommy, Claire and Timmy.

When asked why she stays in Milledgeville when she’s from Ohio, she states “this is home.” It has felt like home since she moved here in 2005, started her career, and had her children. She loves working in the Baldwin County School District and building relationships with students, staff, families and community members.

Carty is excited to rejoin the Midway Hills Academy family for the 2023-2024 school year.
