The Baldwin High School Cross Country team competed in their first cross country meet of the year. The boys team continued its winning from last years region championship team. The boys team finished 1st out of the 17 teams competing in the 2017 Stratford Academy Cross Country Invitational. Sophomore DeMarcus Reeves and Senior Hezekiah Hartry led the boys team, finishing 6th and 10th respectively out of 150 male student athletes. Junior and first year runner Ryan Justice finished 15th. The girls team was led by Freshman Ashley Johnson who finished 6th out of 100 female student athletes, Sophomore Cara Benett finished 24th in her first high school race. The teams will compete next Saturday September 9th in Augusta at the 2017 Augusta Prep Invitational.
