The Baldwin County School District announced today Baldwin High School's Samantha Mutiti was selected as STAR Student for Baldwin County at an event hosted by the Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber at The Club at Lake Sinclair.

“I am absolutely thrilled for Samantha,” said STAR Teacher Jessica Thompson. “She is extremely intelligent and her talents are far-reaching. She is such an amazingly special person who deserves this and all accolades she receives. I have been so lucky to have shared my classroom with her these four years and I'm excited to see what she achieves in the future.”

“This is a great honor for Samantha and our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Noris Price. “Mrs. Thompson, along with all of our teachers, are working tirelessly with our students each day to provide a world-class education and accolades like this show that their work is paying off.”

Mutiti achieved the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) honor by having the highest single day testing score on the SAT. The event hosted by the Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber on behalf of PAGE aims to identify students who achieve the highest score on a single test day while also in the top 10 percentile of their high school academic class. Mutiti achieved the designation of STAR Student while competing against other STAR Students from local private schools here in the Baldwin community.

The Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber event was sponsored by community and business organizations like the Rotary Club of Milledgeville, Georgia Military College, Georgia College, Kiwanis and Exchange Bank.
