State Superintendent Richard Woods Visits The Baldwin County School District at Lakeview Primary

The Baldwin County School District has been enjoying a lot of statewide recognition lately, from the triumph of the Baldwin Bravettes to our BHS Literary Team, so it was a great honor to officially host the Georgia Department of Education's State Superintendent Richard Woods at Lakeview Primary on Thursday, March 14th to continue shining the spotlight on the several of our District's remarkable achievements!

One of the day's highlights was the celebration of Lakeview Primary's innovative family engagement initiative. The "Math Gobbler Turkey Wrap" video, a creative educational project that clinched first place at the state level, was at the forefront of this recognition. Directed by BCSD's School and Public Relations Coordinator, Eric Jones, the video was a testament to the collaborative spirit of students, parents, and faculty, brilliantly merging education with creativity.

Superintendent Woods took a moment to formally recognize Gina Whitaker, the proud recipient of the 2023 Georgia RISE (Recognizing Inspiring School Employees) Award. This accolade was a nod to Mrs. Whitaker's unwavering dedication, hard work, and positive impact within the BCSD, further emphasizing the district's caliber of excellence.

The day also featured the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Lakeview Primary School. Completed in the summer of 2023, the renovations underscored BCSD's commitment to providing top-tier educational facilities, thanks to the diligent use of ESPLOST funds. It was a physical manifestation of the district's pledge to offer the best for its students and staff.
