Antonio "Tony" Shelley Approved as New BCSD Director of Maintenance and Facilities

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Antonio “Tony” Shelley, who was approved by the Board of Education as the new Director of Maintenance and Facilities during the January 26, 2024, Called Board Meeting. He replaces Bruce Knighton who retired in June.


Shelley is a native of Cuthbert, Georgia and graduated from Randolph-Clay High School. He earned his Associate of Applied Technology Degree at Albany Technical College in the fields of Electrical Systems Technology as well as an Industrial Maintenance Technology Diploma from South Georgia Technical College. 


Shelley worked as the Director of Facilities for Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico located on Kirtland Air Force Base where he managed the daily operations of all campuses including building maintenance/preventative maintenance, directing repairs of equipment and systems, and ensuring all facilities adhere to pertinent safety regulations and applicable building codes.


He also worked for the state of Georgia as an Instructor and Program Chair for Central Georgia Technical College. His additional work experience include serving as a technical advisor and talent acquisition specialist for companies such as Georgia Power, Tyson Foods, Perdue Farms, and a host of others.  


Shelley is married to Kourtney and they have three children: Franklin, David and Toni Kaye.
