Baldwin County’s James Lassetter Named GMEA Administrator of the Year

ree

The Baldwin County School District is celebrating one of its own: Mr. James Lassetter, Director of the Baldwin College and Career Academy, has been named the Georgia Marketing Education Association (GMEA) Administrator of the Year!

What the Award Means

The GMEA Administrator of the Year is a subject-specific recognition given by associations within the Georgia Marketing Education Association. Each year, over 100 members nominate administrators who have shown exceptional leadership in their field. The GMEA board then selects one candidate to honor.

This year, Baldwin County rose to the top.

Leadership that Inspires

Mr. Lassetter was nominated by Kristin Grebel, Baldwin High School’s DECA Advisor and Marketing Teacher, who praised his ability to turn vision into action. "His dedication and support have enabled me to triple the revenue in the school-based enterprise, take students to an International competition, and be an effective teacher each and every day," said Grebel, "Mr. Lassetter is a shining star that never wants recognition, but I wholeheartedly felt like he deserved this!”

The Georgia Marketing Education Association described him as a leader whose commitment to empowering teachers and advocating for student success “demonstrates the highest standard of excellence in educational leadership.”

Why It Matters for Baldwin

This recognition reflects more than one administrator’s success. It highlights the culture of excellence that defines Baldwin County Schools. By investing not only in our students, but also in the educators and leaders who guide them, the district ensures that every classroom is a place where innovation thrives and opportunities expand.

What’s Next

Mr. Lassetter will be officially recognized at the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education (GACTE) Conference in 2026, with details to be announced this spring.

Congratulations, Mr. Lassetter! This honor is well-deserved, and we are #BelieveInBaldwin proud.
