The Baldwin County School District is proud to announce that longtime educator and Baldwin County native Nicole Madison-Stephens has been appointed as the new Director of the Early Learning Center.

Approved by the Board of Education at its June meeting, this appointment marks a homecoming for Ms. Madison-Stephens, who brings 28 years of elementary education experience back to the community where her educational journey began.

A Baldwin High School graduate (Class of 1992), Ms. Madison-Stephens is deeply rooted in Baldwin County. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University and holds a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction/Management from Nova Southeastern University.

Her career includes 11 years as a classroom teacher in Baldwin County, followed by leadership roles as assistant principal at Midway Elementary and Blandy Hills Elementary. Ms. Madison-Stephens also served as an assistant principal and then primary school principal in Wilkinson County, expanding her leadership experience.

“I am excited to return to Baldwin County and to give back to the community that shaped me,” Ms. Madison-Stephens shared. “It is especially meaningful to continue the legacy of my mother, Gladys Madison, who dedicated 36 years as a middle school teacher here in Baldwin County.”

Ms. Madison-Stephens looks forward to leading the Early Learning Center and working closely with young learners, their families, and the talented staff. “This opportunity is a dream come true,” she said. “I cannot wait to get started.”

The Baldwin County School District is excited to welcome Ms. Madison-Stephens back and is confident that her passion and leadership will further the mission of providing high-quality early childhood education to Baldwin County’s youngest students.
