Baldwin County School District Celebrates its Inaugural National Bike & Ride to School Day

National Walk & Bike to School Day dawned brightly on Wednesday morning in Baldwin County, and our school district wasted no time seizing the opportunity to promote healthy living and physical activity among our students. With the collaborative efforts of CREATE Inc. and Family Engagement Coordinator Shonya Mapp, the day began with an energetic start. As the sun rose, over twenty Baldwin County School District riders gathered at CREATE Inc.'s central building, ready to kick off the event. But this was more than just a one-day affair; it was the culmination of an extended partnership between the school district and CREATE Inc.

CREATE Inc., founded by Toyia Barnes, has been a steadfast ally in the district's mission to instill healthy habits in its students. Beyond just National Walk & Bike to School Day, CREATE Inc. has been actively involved in teaching students how to ride bikes and has been a hub for after-school activities. Their dedication to promoting physical fitness and wellness aligns perfectly with the Baldwin County School District's values, making them natural partners in the endeavor to nurture healthy, active lifestyles among the youth.

The morning's event, previewed by WGXA Fox News, is all about the commitment of both the school district and CREATE Inc. to the well-being of the community. Riding from CREATE Inc.'s central building to all area schools to drop students off for class, the riders symbolized the importance of starting the day with movement and vitality. With such enthusiastic collaboration and innovative initiatives, it's clear that the Baldwin County School District and CREATE Inc. are making strides in shaping a healthier, more active future for their students.
