Baldwin County School District Prepares for A Virtual Learning Day

Writer: BCSDBCSD

The Baldwin County School District will have a virtual half-day on Friday, September 20th. If you would like your child to bring home a Chromebook (Grades 3-12), please ensure that you complete the Baldwin County School District Student Device Chromebook Release Form. Please ask your child to request a Chromebook Release Form from his/her teacher, the Media Specialists, or the BCSD Technology Department.

Completing this form and paying the $30 technology fee for the year will allow your child to take their Chromebook home throughout the school year.

Following are a few tips to ensure that September 20th is a success:

  • Wait to use the Chromebook until the morning of September 20th. Your child's device will be sent home fully charged. Students will not be sent home with a charger. Following this guidance will help ensure your child's Chromebook will last throughout their learning time.

  • Create a designated workspace to complete assignments and learn. Having an organized area will help your child focus.

  • Eliminate distractions. Create an environment that allows for productivity. Put phones away and turn off the TV.

  • Have the right mindset! Start the day ready to learn!

The tips above will help you and your child maximize your virtual/asynchronous learning day! Remember, if you would like your child to be able to take his/her Chromebook home, please make sure you have completed this form and paid the technology fee by September 18th.
