Baldwin County School Nutrition Department making an impact in the community

The Baldwin County School Nutrition Department continues to aid families in the Baldwin County community through the USDA's Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution initiative. Each Wednesday, staff are joined by volunteers from the Baldwin County School District, civic and community organizations, as well as from church groups. Since the start of the program on June 3rd, 8,700 boxes of produce equalling 217,500 pounds of produce have been distributed. School nutrition staff and volunteers will be at Lakeview Academy every Wednesday from now until Aug. 26 ready to give out fresh produce to families in the community. The next distribution date is Wednesday, July 15.
