The Baldwin County School District is proud to announce Alexander Bakken of Baldwin High School as the recipient of the prestigious Blaze Award, celebrated during the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce’s "Eggs and Issues" event this month.

Initiated in 2022 by Kyle Hitchcock, the Blaze Awards honor students who achieve top ACT scores, along with their inspiring teachers, paralleling the recognition given by the STAR program for SAT accomplishments. Bakken's dual recognition as both the Blaze and STAR award recipient this year marks a significant milestone, highlighting his academic excellence and hard work. He has already been accepted into Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

Bakken honored Mr. Brian Olson, his Spanish teacher, as his influential Blaze Teacher, reflecting Mr. Olson's significant impact on his students and the profound mentorship and guidance he provided. Congratulations to both Bakken and Mr. Olson for being the recipients of the 2024 Blaze Awards.
