Baldwin High School Earns AP Honors Distinction for 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Baldwin High School has been designated as an Advanced Placement (AP) Expansion School. This prestigious recognition comes from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and highlights the outstanding achievements and dedication of our students, educators, and the entire school community in promoting AP opportunities.

As an AP Expansion School, Baldwin High School is recognized for its efforts to broaden access to AP courses and encourage more students to take on the challenge of advanced academic pursuits. This distinction is a clear indication of our commitment to fostering an inclusive and academically challenging environment where every student has the opportunity to excel.

State School Superintendent Richard Woods recently unveiled the list of 276 AP Honor Schools across 99 school districts for 2024, lauding the hard work and commitment of these institutions to provide high-quality, college-level learning experiences for Georgia's students. Baldwin High School's inclusion in the AP Expansion school list indicates its unwavering dedication to academic excellence and mission to expand opportunities for all our students.

The recognition of AP Honor Schools is part of a broader effort by the GaDOE to acknowledge schools that excel in making AP courses accessible and successful for students. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the 2024 AP Honor Schools,” Superintendent Woods said in a press release announcing the schools, “I commend them for their hard work to build strong Advanced Placement programs and, as a result, provide high-quality opportunities for Georgia students. Additionally, I am thrilled that the number of AP Honor Schools and school districts continues to rise each year – a testament to the commitment of Georgia public education to expand opportunities for all Georgia students.”

AP courses play a crucial role in providing high school students with the chance to engage in college-level learning, challenging them academically and preparing them for future success in higher education.
