BCSD Board Member John Jackson Elected President of Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA)

We are thrilled to announce that John Jackson, a dedicated member of the Baldwin County School Board, has been sworn in as the President of the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA). The ceremony occurred in Savannah during the GSBA's Annual Summer Conference, June 6-8, 2024.

Jackson's journey in education leadership has been nothing short of remarkable since he was first elected to the Board of Education in 2009. His exceptional leadership skills led him to serve as chair in 2010, 2014, and again in 2022. During his tenure, the Baldwin County School Board has achieved Exemplary Board status for seven consecutive years and won the prestigious Leading Edge award in 2021, 2022 and 2023, as well as the 2023 Governance Team of the Year Award.


Beyond his board responsibilities, Jackson is deeply involved in various education-related organizations and initiatives. He has represented the Board on the Baldwin County Charter System Foundation of Excellence and the Baldwin County Early Learning Center Policy Council. His role as a legislative liaison for GSBA highlights his dedication to influencing education policy at the state level. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Milledgeville.


Jackson received his Master's in Business Administration from Georgia College and State University and has been the director of parking and transportation for the past 10 years. As the newly appointed President of the Georgia School Boards Association, John Jackson is committed to driving educational excellence. His deep passion for education and unwavering commitment to service will contribute to a brighter future for Georgia’s students.
