In celebration of National School Lunch Week, BCSD Superintendent Dr. Noris Price, School Nutrition Director Susan Nelson, and Deputy Superintendent Matt Adams visited the school nutrition employees at each of our schools, delivering gift bags and certificates as a way of demonstrating the District's appreciation for the amazing job that they do. National School Lunch Week took place during the BCSD's Fall Break, so BCSD moved its recognition ceremony to the week of October 17-21. In addition to the gift bags and certificates, the school nutrition employees were treated to an afternoon Ice Cream Social.

Due to the hard work of our school nutrition employees, all of the schools recently earned perfect scores of 100 on their health inspections. They have also partnered with local businesses and farmers to provide healthy food to our students every day. Last week, for instance, students at Lakeview Primary were able to try the Harvest of the Month, which was zucchini and squash, along with a slice of pizza from Domino's as part of the Domino's Smart Slice program. "Without providing our students with nutritious meals every day, they wouldn't be able to focus on learning while in class," Dr. Price told the school nutrition workers, "what you do is paramount to their education, and we couldn't be more grateful for your amazing work."
