The Baldwin County School District recently hosted its second annual Distinguished Alumni Gala, an event made even more special following the Bravettes' GHSA State Championship win. Celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Georgia College Magnolia Ballroom, this year's gala honored our alumni who have achieved considerable success across a variety of fields, including civic service, athletics, construction and architecture, journalism, and the arts.
These Distinguished Alumni serve as role models, demonstrating the varied paths to success fostered by the Baldwin County School District. Their return to celebrate, in the wake of our Bravettes’ victory, underscored the lasting bond and pride within our great community. Each award recipient spoke about the enduring legacy of excellence that the Baldwin County School District instills in its students, reflecting the unity and achievement that define our district. In addition to a plaque for them to take home, each honoree will also have a plaque on the Wall of Fame at Baldwin High School, as well as a personal poster telling the story of their contributions to our community, state and nation. The 2024 Distinguished Alumni recipients include:
Allied Arts Chair Benjamin Lewis '61
Baldwin Commissioner Sammy Hall '65
13WMAZ Television Personality Raymond Tubb '85
Track and Field Champion Dr. Celena Mondie-Milner '86
Baldwin Public Works Director Timothy Thomas '86
1988 State Championship Winning Bravette Audra Smith '88
President of Albany Technical College, Dr. Emmett Griswold '89
This gala not only celebrated the professional achievements of our alumni but also highlighted the importance of community, tradition, and the role of education in shaping successful futures. It was a poignant reminder of how past successes fuel current triumphs, weaving a continuous thread of excellence through our school's history. We're looking forward to their stories gracing the hallways of our high school, and helping to propel our current class to further success in the future.
