BOE Employee of the Week - Willie Mae Wright

Our BOE Employee of the Week is Mrs. Willie Mae Wright, the Attendance Officer for our school district.

This is Mrs. Wright's fourth year working for the Baldwin County School District. She feels it is her calling to work with young children, which serves as her drive and motivation to help our area youth succeed in school.

"I have always had a passion and a desire to work with youth. As a Probation Supervisor with DJJ I realized that the majority of youth that came through the system were unable to read or had given up on their education so in an effort to be proactive and assist students with continuing their education I changed jobs and joined the team here at Baldwin BOE. My hope is that all children will receive an education and become productive, prosperous young adults."

She graduated from Lithonia High School in Dekalb County. Shortly after, she received her Associate Degree from Georgia Military College and her Bachelor's in Psychology and Master's in Criminal Justice from Georgia College & State University.

She is the proud mother of 2 children: Christopher and Brittane, and the grandmother of 2 beautiful granddaughters: Ariel and Cadence.

In her spare time, Mrs. Wright enjoys reading, writing poetry, and completing word search puzzles. Her favorite movie is "Jason Lyric."

Thank you Mrs. Wright for the dedication you put into your job. You are greatly appreciated!
