Baldwin High School Senior Cara Bennett was selected the 2020 STAR Student at a special luncheon ceremony held at The Club at Lake Sinclair this morning.
Bennett, a current junior at Baldwin High School, currently has a 3.9 grade point average and. she is also a full-time dual enrollment student at Georgia College, having already earned 23 hours of college credit. Bennett is currently ranked #1 in her class and has the highest SAT score in Baldwin High School, scoring a nearly perfect 1530.
Bennett also serves as the secretary for the Baldwin High School Beta Club, a member of the National Honor Society and plays Bravettes Soccer.
The event hosted by the Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber aims to identify students who achieve the highest score on a single test day while also in the top 10 percentile of their high school academic class. Bennett achieved the designation of STAR Student while competing against other STAR Students from local private schools here in the Baldwin community and it is the second year in a row that the honor has gone to a Baldwin High School student.
The Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber event was sponsored by community and business organizations like the Rotary Club of Milledgeville, Georgia Military College, Georgia College, Kiwanis and the Milledgeville Exchange Bank.
