Each year on the third Monday of January we observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Dr. King was an influential civil rights leader who traveled the country spreading his message of social justice, equality and love. He called upon all of us to rise to the mantle of our constitution, seeing every man or woman alive as equals and brothers in the shared, collective experience of what it means to be an American. He called upon all of us to stand and deliver true justice for all.
The Baldwin County School District is committed to being an organization that fosters belonging for every person and group of people. We pledge to play a critical role in setting the tone for racial equality, equity, respect, tolerance, dignity, and understanding in partnership with our employees, families and community.
Dr. King believed that a community of love, justice and solidarity would eventually be actualized. That is why he must continue to work tirelessly for the realization of his dream.
All Baldwin Schools and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 17th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
