The Baldwin County School District has partnered with The Collin P. Lee Center and the Harrisburg Community Network Group to address difficulties faced by families in our community following the pandemic. This group meets every Tuesday at the Collins P. Lee Center at 11:00 am.
During a recent round table discussion, the team addressed several concerns within the community, such as those children within our school system who do not have coats during the winter months. An offer to donate coats was proposed by Dr. Damion Francis, a professor at Georgia College and State University, along with his local church, Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dublin, Georgia.
On February 10, 2023, Dr. Francis graciously presented the Baldwin County School District with 50 coats for our students. This donation speaks highly of our community and its willingness to come together to provide support to our students and family.
This initiative is part of a larger ongoing effort of community organizations and churches working together to help meet the needs of our children throughout Baldwin County. Our children are growing up so fast and outgrowing their old coats. What child does not like a new winter coat to stay warm during a cold winter day? Thank you so much to all who continue to make our children a priority within the Baldwin County community and to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dublin for making a difference.
