The Baldwin County School District will recognize Patriot Day today, Wednesday, September 11th in remembrance and recognition of those who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Most of us remember exactly where we were when we heard the news on September 11, 2001. As we remember the lives that were lost, we also honor those individuals who exhibited bravery during the attacks.

Today, Baldwin County School District will participate in various ways to commemorate this day. In recognition of those heroes, first-responders, families, and the fallen, a moment of silence will be held at 8:46 AM, commemorating the time that the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. In addition, all of our flags will be flown at half-staff in observance of Patriot Day.

As we think back on the events of 9/11, we honor the memory of the men and women who sacrificed their lives and the countless others still affected by these horrific attacks against our nation. The events that happened on that day forever changed the United States. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
