As the temperatures drop, kindness is heating up in Baldwin County! The Knights of Columbus Council 9458 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church graciously donated 48 brand-new jackets to the Baldwin County School District’s Bundle Up Baldwin Jacket Drive, helping ensure that local students stay warm this winter.
Grand Knight Gil Davila, accompanied by fellow Knights Tim Kimerling, Chris Lowery, Jay Sanders, and Jerry Huellemeier, personally delivered the coats to the Board of Education on October 23rd. Pictured are Shonya Mapp, Federal Programs Specialist, and Pat Wolf, District Social Worker, who accepted the donation on behalf of the district.
The jackets will be distributed to economically disadvantaged students across Baldwin County Schools, providing comfort and warmth during the colder months ahead.
The Knights of Columbus’ generosity reflects their broader mission of charity, unity, and service. Through their national Coats for Kids program, councils like Milledgeville’s Council 9458 have donated hundreds of thousands of jackets to children and families in need across the country.
“Community partnerships like this make a real difference in the lives of our students,” said Baldwin County School District Superintendent Dr. Kristina Brooks. “We’re so grateful to the Knights of Columbus for their ongoing support and for embodying the spirit of service that makes Baldwin County such a special place to call home.”
