Leading the Way for Baldwin County’s Workforce Future
We’re proud to share that Baldwin County School District Superintendent Dr. Kristina Brooks has been named to the Georgia Superintendents’ Workforce Leadership Academy, a partnership between the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and Georgia Power.
Dr. Brooks is one of only 20 superintendents statewide chosen for this inaugural cohort, which focuses on strengthening connections between K-12 education and Georgia’s evolving workforce needs.
Preparing Students for Life Beyond Graduation
The program brings together educational leaders from across Georgia to learn directly from workforce experts, collaborate on innovative ideas, and develop district-specific projects that help students transition successfully from the classroom to their future careers.
“K-12 schools play a vital role in workforce development by providing the skills and knowledge students need to succeed in their future careers,” said Greg Wilson, associate director of the Carl Vinson Institute and workforce expert. “The Georgia Superintendents’ Workforce Leadership Academy empowers superintendents to create stronger pathways from the classroom to the workforce, benefitting both students and their communities.”
Baldwin’s Culture of Excellence on Display
Dr. Brooks says the honor reflects Baldwin County’s continued commitment to excellence and its mission to prepare every student to be Employed, Enlisted, or Enrolled after graduation.
“I’m deeply honored to represent Baldwin County in this inaugural academy,” said Dr. Kristina Brooks, Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools. “Our district believes that every graduate should be ready for the next step in life. By building strong partnerships between education, business, and community, we can continue creating opportunities that prepare our students, not only for successful careers, but for meaningful contributions to the future of Baldwin County.”
Looking Ahead
Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, participants will attend workshops, collaborate with workforce leaders, and complete a capstone project that directly supports workforce readiness in their home districts.
For Baldwin County, that means continuing to build bridges between classrooms, local employers, and post-secondary opportunities—strengthening the pipeline that helps our students thrive right here at home.
We couldn’t be prouder of Dr. Brooks for representing Baldwin County on this statewide stage and continuing to champion our Culture of Excellence in all she does.
