The Baldwin County School District is spreading extra holiday cheer this season thanks to a generous $2,000 grant from the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board of Directors!
This funding will help expand BCSD’s Annual Holiday Nutrition Program an initiative that supports local families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks when school meals aren’t available. While the holidays are a time of joy and celebration for many, they can also bring uncertainty for families who rely on school-provided breakfasts and lunches as a consistent source of nutrition.
With the support of Tri-County EMC, Baldwin County Schools will be able to provide even more resources for children and families in need, including:
- Pre-break food distribution events featuring healthy, shelf-stable items for identified families.
- Take-home meal boxes designed to provide balanced breakfasts, lunches, and snacks throughout the holiday season.
“Every child deserves to experience the joy and comfort of the holidays without worrying about their next meal,” said Baldwin County School District Superintendent Dr. Kristina Brooks. “We’re incredibly grateful to Tri-County EMC for helping us make that possible. Their partnership allows us to continue our mission of caring for the whole child, mind, body, and heart.”
Through this continued effort, Baldwin County Schools remains committed to ensuring that every student has the nutrition, care, and support they need to grow, thrive, and truly enjoy the season.
