Welcome to the Team, Dr. Tyrone Gonder!

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Tyrone Gonder who was appointed as the new assistant principal at Baldwin High School. He is currently the 9th Grade school counselor at the high school. Dr. Gonder has been involved in serving families and children for more than 30 years. Prior to coming to the Baldwin County School District, he worked for the Washington County school system for 20 years; 17 as a School Counselor and three as an Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Washington County High School of which he is a 1981 graduate.


Dr. Gonder has worked for the Georgia Army National Guard, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Rehabilitation Services, and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Economics. He also received a U.S. Army Reserve Commission, a master's degree from Fort Valley State University, a specialist degree from Georgia Southern University, and a doctorate degree from the University of West Georgia. In addition to School Counseling certification, Dr. Gonder holds certification in Educational Leadership and completed the National Board for Certified School Counselors awarded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Dr. Gonder is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.


Dr. Gonder lives in Dublin, Georgia with his wife Teresa and they have three children: Rahman 31, Iesha 25, and Attiyah 23. Dr. Gonder has inspired and touched the lives of many young people in his career and he looks forward to inspiring many more. His motto is simple: “the best way to predict the future is to create it.”
