2021 GEORGIA COLLEGE HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
The school board recognized Ms. Felicia Cummings for being chosen as the 2021 Georgia College Humanitarian of the Year for the College of Arts & Sciences. The inaugural College of Arts and Sciences Humanitarian of the Year Award is given to graduates who are characterized, not necessarily in leadership positions, that resulted in visible improvements within his or her community. Ms. Cummings was nominated by leadership in the Communications Department at Georgia College and then selected to receive the award by College of Arts & Sciences leadership. Ms. Cummings' nomination derived from her public relations work with the Milledgeville Police Department, the City of Milledgeville, and with the Baldwin County School District.
OUTSTANDING GEORGIA CITIZEN AWARD
The school board recognized Dr. Dianna Hollis for receiving the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award from Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. This honor is awarded to Georgians who go above and beyond in their dedication to the well-being of the state. The award from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger reads: "May this Outstanding Citizen be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia in her travels to other states, to nations beyond the borders of the United States of America, or wherever she may hereafter travel or reside. Thank you for your service to our State."
