Our graduation rate continues to outpace the state average, serving as a testament to the tireless efforts and hard work of our teachers, students, administrators and support staff as well as the unwavering support of our parents and the community," stated Dr. Noris Price.
The Baldwin County School District remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that students graduate from high school with a wealth of opportunities. As a result, the District employs a comprehensive approach, emphasizing content mastery, research-based teaching strategies, dual enrollment programs, monitoring of failure rates, and educational support services such as summer school and Saturday school tutoring. These initiatives empower students to attain their aspirations and succeed in life.
How Georgia calculates its graduation rate:
Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate as required by federal law.
This rate is:
The number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma, divided by
The number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating class
Adjusted Cohort Rate Definition: From the beginning of ninth grade, students who are entering that grade for the first time form a cohort that is subsequently adjusted by adding any students who transfer into the cohort during the next three years and subtracting any students who transfer out.
