BCSD Celebrates 2024 District Spelling Bee

We are thrilled to announce the winners of the highly anticipated 2024 District Spelling Bee, held on Thursday, January 18th. The event showcased exceptional spelling talents, humor, and academic prowess, making it a memorable experience for all in attendance.

A big congratulations goes to 8th Grader Layla Gholson for securing the coveted title of the District Spelling Bee champion. Layla's dedication and skill were truly commendable. Equally deserving of recognition is the entertaining and bombastic Fourth Grader, Carter Hall from Lakeview Academy, who added a delightful touch to the event as the runner-up, capturing everyone's attention with his unique giddiness and infectious excitement. We salute Carter for his charismatic approach to the competition and applaud his remarkable performance.

The winning word that sealed Layla Gholson's victory was "acclaim." Layla's ability to navigate the challenging word showcased her exceptional spelling abilities, earning her the well-deserved championship.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Curriculum Specialist Erica Ingram for hosting a wonderful 2024 show. Additionally, we would like to recognize our esteemed panel of judges whose expertise and dedication ensured the fair assessment of participants:
