BCSD Holds June Board Meeting Recognitions

On Tuesday, June 13th, BCSD held its monthly Board of Education Meeting. Congratulations to the following Baldwin County staff who were recognized for their accomplishments!



Recognition of Midway Hills Primary Principal Tara Burney and Baldwin High School Principal Jason Flanders for successfully completing the GSSA District Professional Development Program


The Georgia School Superintendent’s District Office Professional Development Program is a one-year course of study designed to enhance the individual and collective leadership capacity of the school and district leaders while supporting the superintendent’s ability to accomplish system-wide goals. Program strands include strategic leadership, change leadership, interpersonal leadership, and organizational leadership.



Recognition of Dr. Noris Price, Superintendent of Schools, by Mayor Mary Parham-Copelan for being appointed by Governor Kemp to the Georgia Council on Literacy established by Senate Bill 211


Senate Bill 211, sponsored by Chairman of the Senate Committee on Higher Education Sen. Billy Hickman (R – Statesboro), passed in the Georgia Senate with bipartisan support. SB 211 would create the Georgia Council on Literacy, which would be tasked with conducting comprehensive reviews of educational programs for all ages, state support for said programs, and other issues related to improving the literacy outcomes of Georgians from birth to adulthood. The Council will be composed of 30 members appointed by the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
