The early 2024 Georgia cold snaps might be in full effect, but our children play on! That's because this year's grueling polar vortex is no match for Family Service and Community Partnership Manager Carrie Brown at the Early Learning Center (ELC). Brown oversees the support for families, working closely with Family Advocates and community partners to secure vital donations for provisions for our youngest and most vulnerable students.
Driven by a genuine concern for the well-being of the students, Brown noticed some children facing the cold without proper winter gear. Her response was swift and impactful – applying for the Tri County Roundup Grant every three months, she successfully obtained funding to purchase hats and gloves for all the kids. Brown's commitment to securing grants for essential needs, including car seats, home essentials, and clothing, reflects her dedication to the community's welfare.
Despite her modesty and reluctance to take center stage, Brown's efforts have created a ripple effect of positive change. "Tri County always seems to fund my ideas. I come up with ideas to support our families and when I apply I almost always receive them," she expressed.
Brown's meticulous approach and dedication to serving the community have not only provided winter essentials for the students but also set an inspiring example for others to follow. Baldwin County Schools proudly celebrate the triumph of Carrie Brown, showcasing the profound impact that one individual's determination can have on uplifting an entire community.
