Georgia Education Department Launches Free Online Tutoring Program for Local High School Students

Writer: EricJonesEricJones

The Georgia Department of Education has initiated a new online tutoring program, GaTutor.com, for high school students. This program, offered at no cost, is backed by Georgia Virtual Learning and delivered online through Zoom. It offers tutoring in core academic subjects like English language arts, math, social studies, and science.

Tutoring sessions are 25 minutes each and are led by Georgia certified educators specializing in the subjects. These sessions are available from 4 to 10 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Students wishing to use the tutoring services must register in advance via the SLDS student portal, accessible through their CCSD Canvas student account. They can schedule their sessions up to a week in advance, but no less than two hours before the session begins.

An online video is available to guide students through the sign-up process. The introduction of this program offers high school students additional academic resources, aiding them in their studies.
