The first meeting of the Oak Hill STEAM Club was a hit! Students worked in engineering teams to solve a problem based on a real-world challenge. The challenge was to design and build a spacecraft that could land safely on Mars without injuring astronauts or damaging the spacecraft.
Engineering teams brainstormed ideas, developed plans, and built prototypes. As the students tested their prototypes, they found ways to make their design work better. Improving a design based on testing is called the engineering design process.
Students interested in joining the Oak Hill STEAM Club should contact Crystal Little, Instructional Coach, in Rm. 285 or email her at crystal.little@baldwin.k12.ga.us.
