Last month, several students at Baldwin High School were called to the library, expecting to be assigned the droll task of cleaning duty. However, what they did not expect was to be surprised with a special announcement that they were 2023 graduating honors students. The celebration included special treats and a heartfelt congratulations by their principal, Jason Flanders.
The students were understandably shocked and surprised by the announcement. What they had thought was going to be a mundane task turned out to be a momentous occasion, marking their achievement as the highest academic achievers in their class.
Media Specialist Pamela Longino went on to also announce the names of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2023, Elaine Abella and Xuan Yang. These two students, who have worked hard throughout their academic careers, have earned the top two honors in their class. They were congratulated by the Principal and their peers, recognizing their exceptional academic achievements.
The surprise announcement in the library was a moment of joy and celebration for these high-achieving students. It recognized their hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence. It was a reminder that hard work pays off, and that success can come when we least expect it.
Congratulations to the 2023 Honors Students, the Valedictorian, and Salutatorian!
