Happy New Year! We hope you had a relaxing and healthy holiday season. Students are scheduled to return to in-person instruction or Baldwin Online Academy on Wednesday, January 5th. We are so excited to welcome our students back to school for the second semester.
All staff, students and visitors will be required to wear a mask when inside all Baldwin County School District facilities and on school buses, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will not be required during meals or outdoor activities. We believe requiring everyone to wear masks will assist us in preventing the potential spread of COVID-19 in our schools.
We would like to remind parents that children who are symptomatic should not be in school. Children who are a close contact to a positive case or waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test should not report to school. Sending symptomatic children, those who have been exposed, and those awaiting test results to school will compromise our ability to keep our schools open. Student absences will be excused and staff members will allow them additional time and support to make up any missed assignments.
The Baldwin County School District will continue to implement our safety protocols and preventative measures, which have been in place since the reopening of schools in August. For more information on all the safety measures utilized to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, visit our 2021-2022 Back to School page on our website. Also, COVID-19 data is available on the district’s website and will be updated every Friday.
We all have the obligation to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in our schools and in our community. Please continue to practice good hygiene habits and consider getting vaccinated if you have not already done so. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all work together to safely navigate through this pandemic.
